From Dad to Son

Adega Mor is located in the wine region of Lisbon. Headquartered in Sobral de Monte Agraço is located very close to Lisbon and currently has a production capacity of around eight million liters. Founded on September 23, 2014 in a totally renovated space, an old iron factory already closed and with a total area of about 14 thousand m2. A recent project that since the middle of the nineteenth century, the Zuzarte Martins family is dedicated to the wine business in the region.

“The wine man”

The wine production and marketing began very early, where the vineyard was already a tradition in the Zuzarte Martins family. Inspired by his roots and driven by his visionary spirit, Diogo Zuzarte Martins founded the Adega Mor. Following this, a business that was already in the family’s possession, since 1946 with his grandfather Francisco Zuzarte Reis, and subsequently since 2003 with his father Raúl Martins with the company Casco Real.

The founder of Adega Mor started to bet on the creation of own brands produced in the vineyards of his father. And since he was very young to accompany his grandfather and his father both in the vineyards and in marketing, he became known as the “Wine Boy” in the region. This shows that their family ancestors have always had land links with an agricultural focus in the wine sector and more precisely in the region of Alenquer.

Adega Mor’s mission is to produce and commercialize wines that are predominantly from the wine region of Lisbon. Work with wines produced solely in Portugal throughout its product line maintaining a quality standard quite satisfactory to the consumer at fair prices.

Properties

More than a winery, a heritage

Today is part of this project a solid heritage built with humility and hard work. Francisco Zuzarte Reis and Raúl Martins always wanted to grow with their own vineyard. Fighters and workers by nature, have cautiously invested decades. It is in the properties of S.José da Laje and in Quinta da Boticaria that they concentrate part of their production, totaling about 200 hectares of vineyard, among their own vineyards and other rental plots. These were the principles with which Diogo started in the business, but being a young man also in a more entrepreneurial way and with a more attentive vision to the market in 2017 decides to extend the patrimony and also acquires in the region of Alenquer another property the Convent of the Our Lady of the Incarnation also has its own vineyard that allows you to create unique wines.

It is at the head office in Sobral de Monte Agraço that we carry out the bottling and packaging of wines and their quality control. The production area has highly sophisticated mechanisms that facilitate the employees’ working conditions, with 3 fully automatic bag-in-box filling lines, a robotised palletizing system and a bottle filling line from capacity from 375ml to 1500ml, making it a modern and competitive company in the market.

Currently a project is already underway in a wine store that will also serve to support the reception of those who want to visit us and get to know this project better.

Logistics

Space Monetization in Response to Requests

The large capacity of finished product storage on about 800 pallets, facilitates the logistic responsiveness, making the shipping and delivery of the products faster, which allows to reach more customers and, consequently, more markets.
